(Mary Frances Blair)
Mary was born in 1922 to Ben and Mamie Blair of Miami, AZ., sister to John and Lionel Blair. Mary was very likable and bright and was skipped through grades in school. She graduated #1 in her class from Miami High School at the age of 15. While attending the University of AZ (graduated 1942) she dated Felix L. Sparks (also from Miami) and they were married in 1941. Moving to Colorado in 1945, she later became a longtime legal editor for the Colorado State Legislature. Mary was the adored mother of four children, the devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A 60 year resident of Lakewood CO., she was kind, considerate and funny and she had many friends throughout her life.
Mary survived her husband of 66 years, Brigadier General Felix L. Sparks, Colorado Army National Guard, Colorado State Supreme Justice, and Director of the Colorado State Water Conservation Board. Mary Frances Sparks died June 12, 2018 four days before her 96th birthday but she will continue to be loved and remembered by the many who really knew her.
