June 21, 1977 – October 6, 2024
With heavy but grateful hearts, we announce the passing of Martin B. Henle, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many. Martin left us on October 6, 2024, doing something he loved—mountain biking in the beautiful Colorado mountains with his friends.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 21, 1977, to Gunter and Judith Henle, Martin quickly made his mark on the world. He grew up in a family that cherished connection and love, values that Martin carried with him his entire life. A proud graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School, Villanova University, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned his CPA, Martin wasn’t just a man of intellect—he was a man of great heart.
Lakewood, Colorado, became his beloved home, but his connections stretched far and wide. Martin is survived by his loving wife, Leticia; his two incredible children, Levi and Caroline, who were the lights of his life; his parents, Judith and Gunter; his brother, Michael; his sister, Karin; and an extended family that reaches from Germany to Boston, Phoenix to Texas, California to Mexico.
Martin’s love for adventure and the outdoors was infectious. He could often be found skiing the Colorado slopes, kicking a soccer ball, or cruising on his mountain bike – with his wife and kids by his side. His spirit of fun, energy, and kindness touched everyone around him. Whether it was cheering at a live concert or celebrating his family's successes, Martin made life vibrant for all who knew him.
The Henle family’s heartbeat, Martin was always the first to pick up the phone to congratulate a niece or nephew, or ask one of his many friends, “How can we fix the world together?” His optimism, humor, and zest for life will forever echo in the memories of those he held dear.
A celebration of Martin’s life will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Olinger Crown Hill in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. In honor of his legacy, and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Levi and Caroline Henle College Fund, using this GoFundMe link. https://gofund.me/b8952c2e
Martin will be missed terribly, but his adventurous, loving spirit will live on in every run down the slopes, every bike ride, and every call to check in on loved ones. Ride on, Martin.
