Mary was born on April 11, 1942 in Menard, Texas to Jose and Guadalupe Martinez. The family including her two brothers moved to San Angelo, Texas shortly thereafter. At the age of 12 Mary and her family moved to Denver, Colorado and in September of 1954 her sister Sylvia was born.
Mary graduated from Manuel High School in 1960. After graduation she accepted a position at a modeling company in downtown Denver as a model. During this time Mary was taking college courses for Medical Transcribing. Upon completion she accepted a position at St. Joseph's Hospital as a Medical Transcriber and then later worked at the Denver County Coroner's Office doing the same. She concluded her career as a dispatcher for the Denver Police Department at Denver International Airport. During her time at DIA she adopted her son Armando.
Mary was very active in activities at her church and served in the Prison Ministry sharing her love for Christ with the prisoners. She had a passion for art which started way back in High School and she never stopped pursuing it. Mary was a huge Bronco fan, and was a season ticket holder for many years. She also had many other interests like attending the theatre, movies, reading, playing cards, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.
She witnessed many events throughout her full life such as the Beatles, and President Kennedy coming through Denver in the 1960's, and even the Pope landing at DIA when she worked there in the 90's.
She loved her son Armando and as she raised him she exposed him to many cultural events, skiing in the mountains as well as traveling to Hawaii. She even gave him flying lessons and was there to greet him at Jefferson County Airport when he flew solo and landed safely from Utah.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers Noe and Joe Martinez.
She is survived by her son Armando Crespin, sister Sylvia Duncan (Dan Duncan), niece Holly Rothenburgh (Steve Rothenburgh), niece Heather Kinghorn (Andy Kinghorn), nephew Jeremiah Duncan, nephew Travis Duncan (Brandi Duncan), great niece Isabella Rothenburgh, great nephew Zander Duncan, great niece Zayley Duncan, uncles Victor, Antonio, Manuel Talavera and many cousins.
