Born JoAnn Claire Haggerty in Dade County, Miami, Florida to Doris and Joseph Haggerty. JoAnn spent her early years in Miami and later in Albuquerque New Mexico where she graduated from Manzano high school. Doris moved the family to Boulder Colorado to work for Furr’s Cafeteria. JoAnn worked for Furr’s for a short time and then a plastic mold injection company, and later for Lange Garcia – ski boot factory in Broomfield. When Lange moved operations to Italy, JoAnn hired on at StorageTek Corporation in Louisville, CO where she met her husband, Richard Gill. JoAnn inspected disc storage machines until laid-off. She was hired at Martin Marietta in Waterton as a missile wire harnessing inspector. She lost the diamond in her wedding ring inside a Titan missile. When the contract ended at Martin, JoAnn decided to go to school to become a dental assistant. JoAnn worked in a dental office and then later in orthodontics before retiring.
JoAnn made 5 houses into loving homes with Richard. She helped raise Richard’s boys Jeremy and Cory. JoAnn loved to slalom water ski, hike, travel to Mexico, cooking, and gardening. However, once she saw a girl riding a horse behind the house one day, she wanted one (the boat wasn’t expensive enough I guessed). She leased a horse named Missy and later bought her a Paint horse named Sonny.
JoAnn’s most recent world revolved around trail riding and hang’in with her barn buddies. JoAnn is one of those with a thousand friends and no enemies’ kind of girl – everyone loves Jojo.
JoAnn is survived by her husband Richard Gill of Arvada. CO; sisters Patricia Gregg of Braselton GA, Kathleen Musgrave of Florissant CO; and brother Michael Haggerty of Anderson TX.
