He grew up and attended school in Edgewater, Colorado. After graduating high school, he then went on to enlist in the Navy. After serving four years in the Navy, he came back home to Colorado to raise his family, he became a successful business owner, as well as embarked on many other ventures. He is survived by his wife Lolly, children Paige (Ed), and Scott (Deanna), sister Betty, five grandchildren, three and ¾ great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
He worked for 48 years until he retired in 2003. Jim then waited for Lolly to retire in 2007. After a few more years, he and Lolly then packed up their home in Edgewater and excitedly relocated to their current residence at Carmel Oaks in 2011 to really immerse themselves into retirement. Jim spent his time enjoying Wii tournaments, camping trips, travel, poker games, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and making beautiful plastic bead banners.
Jim avidly loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping with his family and friends. He loved to tease anyone that he really liked, had a great sense of humor, and loved a good game of poker. He was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan through the good and the bad seasons.
He will be greatly missed around the campfires, family gatherings, and game nights.
