Helen was born on March 20, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Stella and Robert White. She had a passion for cooking and baking. Her mother taught her how to make homemade biscuits and pies by the age of 8. She enjoyed sharing this passion with her family. She hosted the annual get together every Christmas and enjoyed preparing main courses and desserts. Her specialties were her pecan pie and her pumpkin pie. Helen picked local fruits and vegetables and enjoyed canning and preserving them. She always had the best garden in the neighborhood. We will never forget how delicious her tomatoes were. Her and her late husband, Hank, enjoyed a life of traveling and they loved to visit casinos and gamble. Helen carried on the tradition of “going up the hill” on Sundays to gamble and enjoying the buffet at lunch time. She even traveled to the largest casino in the world. She loved to go to restaurants and we all enjoyed going with her and spending an afternoon in her company.
Helen will be remembered by her 2 sons, Harvey Lee and Ed, 3 grandchildren, Jason, Jacob and Jade, 1 great granddaughter, Jazmyn, her siblings, Loretta Hunter, Shirley Kaiser and Bobby White and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen’s family and friends are invited to a memorial service on the 13th of September, 2019 at Olinger Crown Hill 7777 W 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Co 80033. Services will begin at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow immediately after in the same location and all are welcome.
