With heavy hearts we announce the passing of George "Jim" Eliopulos, who departed this life on 12/9/2024 at the age of 81. Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife, extended family, and numerous friends.
Born on June 5, 1943 in Denver, CO, Jim lived a life characterized by open friendship and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He was a successful businessman and restaurateur, and most notably owned and operated Cafe Del Sol in Vail and Lakewood for over 35 years, combined. His devotion to living a full life in the Colorado Rockies was evident to all who knew him. He loved the mountains, and all the grandeur that mountain life had to bring.
Jim's comforting presence was a constant source of happiness and strength for his loved ones. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and he will be remembered for the positive impact he had on the lives of those around him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Wanda Eliopulos; nieces, Stephanie Davies and Tammy Frainier, and nephew, Dean Kiahtipes. He was predeceased by father, James J Eliopulos, mother, Marie J Eliopulos, sister Billie Jean Kiahtipes, sister Joanne Eliopulos, and nephew James J. Kiahtipes.
A memorial service will be held on 12/19/2024 at 1pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery with a reception immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim's memory to the American Cancer Society & Hospice Foundation of America.
He will be deeply missed but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
