Born in Denver on May 11, 1948 to Joseph and Genevieve (Niccoli) Giambrocco, Gary was the second of three children. A graduate of North High School in 1966, he went on to receive an associate’s degree from Northeastern Junior College, and attended the University of Northern Colorado before joining his father in business in 1968.
Gary married his high school sweetheart, Connie (Boosinger), on January 8, 1972. The couple settled in Arvada where they had two daughters. In 1984, he purchased Giambrocco Produce Company from his father reestablishing it as Giambrocco Food Service. Under his management the company tripled in size and has continued to service restaurants, schools, and institutions up and down the front range. In the 1990’s Gary also lived out a childhood dream of owning a car wash. Though his passion was in sales and servicing his customers, he thoroughly enjoyed tinkering daily at the car washes after a full fourteen-hour day his food service company.
Gary is survived by his wife, Connie, and their daughters, Bernadette Soehner (Stanley) and Antoinette Giambrocco (Randall Weigum). Grandchildren include Antony, Nicolas, Garrett, Stanley, and Jack Soehner, Andy and Sydney Firebaugh, and Reid and Rylie Weigum. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon Ebina and Kare Giambrocco.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life in honor of Gary and invites those who wish to gather in his memory to join them. The celebration will be held at the Arvada Center (6901 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80003). Guests are encouraged to stop by between 10am and 1pm. Gary will be inurned at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Gary was a well-loved member of the community, a mentor to many, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all.
