Doreen Louise Loftesness (Milner), age 87, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, May 30, 2024. She was a long-time resident of Arvada for about 60 years. She met her beloved husband of 49 years, and they started their family in Golden, Colorado before moving to Arvada.
Doreen went to work once her children were school aged and worked for the Jefferson County School District for 26 years, as a cafeteria manager. She retired at 55 years old to enjoy time with her family.
She loved attending her grandkids activities whenever she could, even traveling out to California to spend time with family. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband visiting other countries.
Doreen enjoyed music and came from a musically gifted family, as her parents had a band. She loved to dance with her husband, mostly the Jitterbug, Swing and of course Polka. She loved to listen to music from Big Band to Frank Sinatra to Michael Bublé.
The last of her 8 siblings to pass. Doreen is survived by her 2 children, Kenneth (Laurie) and Cindy, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, August Merle "Gus" Loftesness. She will forever be missed and will live always in our hearts.
