Dewey Wayne Michael

Dewey passed away Tuesday Feb 7th just 2 days before his 81st birthday in Littleton, Colorado. He was born in Mississippi and grew up in Tennessee, graduating from Millington Central High in 1960. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1966. He worked in the HVAC industry for over 25 years, retiring from UA Pipefitters Local 208.

He spent his life as a technician and talented craftsman working with his head and hands. He flawlessly restored a pre-1900’s Victorian house listed on the National Historic Register in Pueblo, Colorado and built a vacation home in Divide, Colorado. In addition to always painting, landscaping and generally improving his houses at the time, he stayed busy with Sudoku puzzles, racing RC model trucks and cars and square dancing. A lifelong country music fan, he was always whistling or singing a Hank Williams, Johnny Cash or other country music star’s tune. He suffered as a Colorado Rockies fan and enjoyed the successes of the Denver Broncos. Worldwide travelers for over 40 years before and during retirement Dewey and Addalee enjoyed cruises and trips within the US and continents including Asia, Europe, Australia and South America.

Dewey is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Addalee Michael; his son Duane L. Michael and his wife, Delinda; and his son Marshall E. Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Virginia Michael; and son Scott D. Michael. Also surviving are his brothers Howard Michael, Larry Michael, Jerry Michael, sister Patsy Ervin and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life event will be held after the service in the Heritage Hall on the premises.
