With love and remembrance in our hearts, we celebrate the life of father, dedicated uncle, and friend to many, Albert F. Ayala. Born on March 27, 1924 in Honolulu Hawaii, he lived a long and rewarding life, passing away in Aurora, Colorado on March 15, 2013, at the age of 88.
Albert was born fourth of five siblings, including a brother, Ernest Ayala, and three sisters, Jane Rapoza, Helen Ayala, and Isabelle Wheeler. He is survived by his wife Viola, his son Allen, Ernest Ayala and Jane Rapoza. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, Helen Ayala and Isabelle Wheeler.
Living in Hawaii as a child, Albert witnessed the inconceivable bombing of Pearl Harbor and watched as fighter planes flew over his family home. Soon after, he joined the military in 1945, serving in the Air Force as a Machinist in World War II, the Korean War, and in Vietnam. After leaving the military, he worked at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Aurora, CO until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and loved to golf, fish, play the guitar and ukulele. On October 2, 1971 he married Viola, his travel companion, dance partner, and friend for life.
His open heart and contagious laugh will be greatly missed. And as the Lord welcomes him, he would simply say ‘No Problem!’.
Please join us to celebrate his life at the Crown Hill Cemetery in the Pavilion at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 27 2013. Reception will follow immediately with a military burial at Fort Logan at 1:00pm.
