Roger was born on June 13, 1940, in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan to Viateur and Rose Eva Forest. Roger married the love of his life Monique on Oct 17, 1964. In the years following, they welcomed three sons and a daughter and 4 grand daughters, whom he lovingly cherished.
In his early years he worked various construction jobs before moving on to a long career as a grader operator in the RM. of Willow Bunch #42 and RM of Laurier #38, in Radville, SK. He was so committed to a work hard, play hard attitude as injuries and accidents never slowed him down. In his retirement, Roger was one not to sit still, so was always willing to help anyone in need. Roger always looked forward to time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was blessed with the opportunity to travel to many places including Alberta, British Columbia and Maui.
He loved to play cards, especially cribbage with his family and friends. There was never a dull moment as Roger had great unfiltered ability to make people laugh and loved to play practical jokes on people where he was happy to have had the last laugh.
He was predeceased by his father, Viateur Forest; mother, Rose Eva (Lavallee) Forest; brothers, Aristide “Poncho”, Florent and Denis and sisters, Therese, and Doris.
Roger will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Monique Forest of Radville, SK; son, Raymond Forest; daughter, Yvette Karwandy (Gary); son, Wayne Forest (Shauna); son, Mark Forest (Richelle); granddaughters, Holly, Sarah, Molly and Charlize; brothers, Albert and Lionel; sisters, Margaret, Marie-Reine, Rita and Claire as well as many nieces, nephews & friends.
