Eleanor was born in Kelliher, SK on September 18, 1945 and grew up on the family farm, attending school in Melville. Eleanor had two important guys in her life - her husband, Harry and her son, Kevin. Eleanor and Harry were the best of friends and were rarely seen apart during all the years they lived in Regina, Lebret, Fort Qu’Appelle and Weyburn.
Anyone who knew Eleanor, knows what a proud wife, mother and grandma she was. She loved nothing better than to tell others all about her family. She and Harry always had a beautiful vegetable garden, which they canned and shared with family and friends. Eleanor also enjoyed baking, knitting and playing cards.
Eleanor is predeceased by her parents Peter and Stella Kreklewich; infant brother Ernie and brother-in-law Alec Kobsar.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry; her pride and joy, Kevin (Amanda) Zarubin and their daughters Brooke & Alicia; sister, Virgina Kobsar; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Tatagwa View and Weyburn General Hospital for their compassionate care of Eleanor.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Eleanor’s name can be directed to the Canadian Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.ca.
Due to pandemic restrictions, a private family celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held at a later date.
