Agnes was predeceased by her husband, Al Pitre; parents, Joseph & Lena Hickey; in laws, Leonard & Regina Pitre; brothers, Urban, Leonard, Delphis, & Alfred; sisters, Dora, Cora, & Charlotte; sisters in law, Florida Pitre and Kathy Pitre; son in law, Kenneth Scott; son, Keith Pitre; grandsons, Landon Pitre and Adrian Scott; great grandson, Mason Robillard and great great grandson, Robbie Hyderman.
Agnes was born in Doyleville, New Brunswick and grew up there along with 4 brothers and 4 sisters. She attended school there until Grade 8 and then went out to work to help out at home. Agnes met the love of her life, Al Pitre and they married and had 2 children while living in New Brunswick. Together they decided to move out to Saskatchewan to look for work and new adventures. They moved on the Jacobs farm and worked there until they purchased a farm of their own.
Agnes had a large garden and helped to keep things going at the farm with Al. Later she joined the women’s institute and met many neighbours and friends. Agnes took part in 4-H as a leader while the kids were fully involved in many classes. As the kids got older and were going on their way, she took part in bowling in Radville, bingo in Weyburn,and playing cards with family and friends. Agnes also enjoyed gambling trips with her "lady friends".
Mom and dad started going to Red Wing games in the 1980's and continued to go for many years. They moved off the farm in 2005 and purchased a house in Weyburn. Agnes continued with her pastimes, gardening,bingo,and also joined TOPS and met many new friends. She enjoyed the many visits with the grandchildren and great grandchildren
When dad took ill, she went into Midtown private care home. She enjoyed her time there and made many more new friends. When Agnes became ill herself, she was hospitalised at the Weyburn General and remained there for 5-6 weeks Following her time in the hospital she took a bed at Special Care Home in Weyburn. Again making many new friends and she fully enjoyed their activity program. When Agnes fell ill again she was hospitalised and passed away at the hospital. Rest in Peace Mom, you will be deeply missed by all.
Agnes is survived by her son, Dan (Debra) Pitre of Trossachs, SK and children: Tammy (Darren) Berger and family, Shekinah LaRose (Lee Kloth) and children: Keyanna, Brylee and Leeroy, Chanel Vogel and son, Rayne Hilton, Jasmine Berger and Savannah Berger; daughter, Susan (Brian) Bouvier of Stoughton, SK and children, April (Rodney) Pelletier and children, Steven (Shanise) Pelletier and daughter: Emmaline, Samanatha Pelletier and son, Hayes; Shawn Bouvier and children: Abby and Jersey; daughter, Audrey Scott (Allan) of Radville, SK and children, Rachel (Scott) Robillard and son, Teller; Adam Scott; Lara Hazen and children, Ethan, Sheridyn and Charlie, Mallory (Micheal) and daughter Riven, Dane (Leah) and children Odin and Finn; son, Bruce (Wendy) Pitre of Weyburn, SK and children: Ashton (Tyler) Fehr and son, Seamus, Justin (Jennifer) Pitre and Alex Pitre; sister, Liz Wasylechko; brothers in law, Omer, Eugene & Robert; sisters in law, Delima, Marie Anne & Anita as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Father Valentine Amobi presiding. For those unable to attend the service in person, the livestream event may still be viewed by logging in to Fletcher Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services Facebook page. The funeral lunch followed the mass at Mckenna Hall. Interment took place at Radville~Laurier Cemetery, Radville, Saskatchewan following lunch. The Honourary Pallbearers were Agnes' grandchildren, Tammy, April, Shawn, Adam, Rachel, Ashton, Justin and Alex.
