Susanne Margaret (Servansky) Nowak

Susanne Margaret (Servansky) Nowak, 91, Wethersfield, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, joined her late husband Joseph J. Nowak in heaven on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Susanne was born on September 14, 1925 in Windber PA and was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Sinar) Servansky. Susanne grew up and attended schools in Windber before moving to Hartford to work at State Welding. Later, Susanne enjoyed working for 30 years as a lunch monitor for the Wethersfield School Systems. She enjoyed canning vegetables but especially loved to cook; her delicious meals will be missed. She enjoyed baking and cake decorating, creating beautiful masterpieces that looked as good as they tasted. Susanne was a loving woman, truly devoted to her family. She will be truly missed by her sons, Richard Nowak and his companion Maryann Basile of Wethersfield, Ronald Nowak and his wife Louise of Columbia and her daughter, Elaine Guida and her husband Peter of Wethersfield. In addition, she leaves her beloved grandchildren, Ethan Guida, Matthew Guida, Andrew James (AJ) Nowak and his wife Dana and Amanda (Nowak) Frame and her husband Dustin, along with her great-granddaughter, Eleanor Frame. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Carol Nowak, along with her many siblings. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hebrew Center and the Hospice staff from Masonicare for their care and compassion.

Funeral services for Susanne will begin on Friday, March 3rd at 9:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford. Burial will immediately follow in Village Cemetery, Old Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
