Robert Bernier

Robert W. Bernier, 82, of New Britain, passed away suddenly, Tuesday (March 8, 2011). He was born June 30, 1928 in St. Cyril, province of L'Islet, Quebec, Canada and was the son of the late Eustache and Lucy (Ganderau) Bernier. He was employed by Jim's Drywall Company, retiring several years ago. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by two sons, Ghislain ""Jess"" Bernier and wife, Jeannie of Southwick, Massachusetts and Yvan Bernier and wife, Linda of East Hartford; grandchildren, Jason Bernier and Ivan Bernier, Jr. and a great-granddaughter, Joanne Bernier; three brothers, Fernand, Maurice and Joseph Bernier; sisters, Therese, Sister Gemme, Claire and Francoise as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Bernier; brothers, Jean, Marcel, Charles and a sister, Margaret. Funeral service will be Saturday (March12) at 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. The burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
