Richard Thomas Tavani

Richard Thomas Tavani, 72, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Marisa (Piazza) Tavani, passed away on Saturday, (March 15, 2008) surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Massimo and Rose (Spadorcia) Tavani and had lived in the area all of his life. He retired from the Aetna Life and Casualty after many years of service. He was an Army Veteran. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Besides his wife he leaves his son, Arthur and his wife, Elaine Tavani of Marlborough; daughters, Patricia and her husband, William Hahn of Southbury, Lisa and her husband, Stephen Howe of West Chester, PA; brother, Anthony and his wife, Anne Tavani of Rocky Hill; his precious grandchildren, Matthew and Rachel Tavani, Brian and Marisa Hahn, and Kevin, Eric and Ryan Howe; his mother-in-law, Carmela Sinigallia; brother-in-law, Rev. Mariano Piazza; sister-in-law, Mirella Piazza all of Italy; and several nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Tavani; and a sister, Antoinette Tavani. Funeral services will be Wednesday, at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
