Phil was born on August 16, 1968 in Hartford and was the son of the late Paul P. and Barbara (Galucia) Lombardo. Phil grew up in Wethersfield, he was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, Class of 1987. In addition, he went on to receive his EMT/Paramedic Certification from Northeastern University in 1990. He was extremely devoted to the town, volunteering for the Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance Association, as well as a volunteer firefighter for the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department, Company 2. Phil was a hard worker, he split his time between Aetna Ambulance, Bristol Hospital Emergency Medical Service and Rockville General Hospital. Most recently, he worked at Gordon Bonetti Florist and the Casa Mia Restaurant Group. He volunteered as a Troop Leader and Council Volunteer for Boy Scout Troop #50 of Wethersfield, as well as the Health Director of Boy Scout Camp Workcoeman. For many years, Phil devoted a weekend in November to assist Foodshare with their annual turkey drive. Most of all, Phil was a devoted family man, he truly loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Phil will be truly missed by his children, Barbara, Peter, Ian and Elizabeth “Liz”. He also leaves his brother Peter A. Lombardo and his wife Jennifer, his nieces and nephews, Julia, Carlo, and Robert Lombardo, Chris, and Casey Dundon. He was predeceased by his brother Paul V. Lombardo and his niece, Kathleen Marie Lombardo.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Attendees are asked to meet directly at church. Services will conclude at church. The church requires all attendees wear a face covering. In lieu of flowers, a Go-Fund-Me-Page has been set up to assist the family https://gofund.me/270eab89.
