Mary Zito

Mary (Vyskocil) Zito, 86, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 62 years of Daniel Zito, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2021 with her family by her side. Born in Hartford on April 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Lucy (Malena) Vyskocil and had lived in the area all her life. Mary was a graduate of Hartford Public High School. Over the years, she worked at Royal Typewriter and Traveler’s, but her most important job was staying at home to raise her sons. Mary enjoyed shopping and loved cooking for and spending time with her family. She also looked forward to getting her hair and nails done regularly.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mary will be forever missed by her devoted husband Daniel; two sons, Kenneth Zito and wife Kathi and David Zito, all of Wethersfield and her three adored grandchildren, Casey Davis, Chelsea Zito and Ryan Zito. She is also survived by two sisters, Lucille Herlihy of Newington and Shirley Kyle of Berlin, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Vyskocil.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 1 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Masks are required for all indoor services per the town of Wethersfield. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
