Martha Marty Hart (Prelle)

Martha “Marty” (Prelle) Hart, 66, of Wethersfield, best friend, soul mate and loving wife of Charles H. Hart for 43 years, passed away suddenly, Wednesday (December 28, 2011) at her home. She was born February 3, 1945 in New Britain and is the daughter of Elizabeth “Betty” (Johnson) Prelle of Wethersfield and the late Walter O. Prelle. Marty was a member of the Wethersfield Cove Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Hamner School Library for many years. Her artistic talent was evident in many aspects of her life. She loved the outdoors, camping, sports, boating, flannel shirts and jeans, her cats and most of all her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, mom and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, William Hart and wife, Melissa and Robert Hart and wife, Nicole all of Wethersfield; her daughter, Sarah Hart of Taos, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, W. Thomas, Kaleigh, Garrett, Braeden, Anna, Owen and Cara; her twin brother, W. William Prelle and wife, Cheryl of Bellingham, Washington; three sisters, Sally Prelle of Wethersfield, Betty “Tuey” Montany and husband, David of Lebanon and Laura Prelle of Coventry and her niece, Emily Montany. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Thomas Hart and her nephew, David W. Montany.

Calling hours are Tuesday (January 3) from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
