My memories of Marc’s excitement when we finally unwrapped and put all of this things into his condo. What an excited man! His drams had come true in one little spot! All the southwestern and Native American things he had collected were finally at home and he was absolutely loving it. He was like a puppy, trying each  spot ! What a fun client he was! Then what a fun friend as I tried to cook my hottest creations for he and I and have simple meat and potatoes for Catie. I loved having them in my home, together they were like a breath of fresh air, always happy, always ready for the next food adventure! He was so full of love for others. It simply radiated from him. Katie was a quilter for many years and visited our store in for classes and supplies.  When she met Marco and started bringing him along, we realized that he and Ron knew each other from Hartford.  After they married and Katie became part of his Santa endeavors, it was obvious that they were a perfect match.

As Katie became ill, Marco was a devoted husband and caregiver.  He was thoughtful and kind and made sure she visited us often.

We are unable to attend the calling hours but wanted to know you are in our thoughts and prayers.



Joanne and I send our sincere condolences.  We have great memories of Marc and Ruth whom we worked with at the Institute for Living in Hartford. Ruth and the two boys were always a pleasure.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Marko has been one of the lights of my life for over 50 years. we first met when he started working at Meriden -Wallingford Hospital as a nurse on my floor.. Then I went to nursing school at the same facility and Mark was one of my instructors. 
We have kept in touch all these years through Facebook and talked about many things. I met for lunch with him and Katie at one of his favorite restaurants in Middletown several years ago. We talked about old times and new times for several hours! 
I’m so sorry for your loss! He was a special person.

Marc was one of the kindest and most loving people I have ever known. What fun we had putting together his happy place in Surfside! He became such a good friend as well as my client. When he met Katie and they would visit, I enjoyed having them in my home for southern food. We shared our love of hot spices! We have continued to enjoy each other online when trips to SC became hard for him. I will miss him, his jolly laugh, and his big hugs. I am so sorry for his beloved sons in their loss but celebrating the reunion of Marc and Katie in heaven. I know our Lord welcomed his steadfast servant into his arms.

It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of an old friend. He was such a compassionate human being, loved us all and was such a pillar of our group. We where such a connected group of friends,often played same song at same time every night. We were nursing school buddies, helped each other along. Marc is the last of three,,of the boys to pass. My condolences to his family, who  he loved endlessly. Our world is better for his presence, my life was blessed for him being a part of it.


Dale and I are so sorry for your loss.   Marco & Katie were so kind and caring and we became good friends.  As a  fellow Santa & Mrs. Claus, they would join our Palmetto Santa group when they were in Myrtle Beach and they were so kind letting us use their condo while our daughter attended CCU (before we moved down).  I especially enjoyed lunch with Marco  just this May when he visited the beach.  He was so happy and we enjoyed catching up.  He spoke so much about his family and how much they meant to him.  Those of us down in SC will miss him dearly but we know he is with Katie and is smiling down on all of us.  Rest in peace and love Marco.  We will miss you!

My heart is sad to think I will never be able to talk to Marc again. We have been friends since NBGH Nursing school. I hold many memories from those years. He was a wonderful person in all ways. He is with Katie and I am happy for that. Prayers for your family and for the souls of Marc an Katie.

My sincere sympathy to the entire Maio family. Marc was such a nice man. I will never forget how he (Santa) and Katie (Mrs.  Claus)  visited with my daughter and her friends and made Christmas extra special for all of their children. May happy memories stay with you.
