Lynn was born in Hartford, CT on July 7, 1948. She was the daughter of John J. and Marie (Rettig) Keleher. Lynn was raised in Wethersfield, a lifelong member of First Church of Christ. She graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1966, then graduated from Central Connecticut University and attained her Master’s Degree in education from Eastern Connecticut State University. Following graduation from Central CT she started her teaching career at Lebanon Elementary School, there she found her home.
For over 37 years the students and staff of Lebanon Elementary School were privileged to have Lynn as a talented, nurturing, kindhearted and fun-loving teacher and colleague. One colleague described Lynn as the backbone of the school, always there to lend a helping hand, solve a problem, or organize a faculty party. Lynn loved a party.
During her years in Lebanon, Lynn was once selected Teacher of the Year, an honor designated by her colleagues. Lynn was a long-time member of the Garden Club of Windham. As Lynn leaves a legacy at Lebanon Elementary School, she leaves a family she loved and nurtured her entire life. “Every family should have an Auntie Lynnie”. We did. We had the original. She attended to each and every family member with loving care. There are many, but she took care of all. Lynn is survived by her sister Marie and George White of East Haddam, by her brothers and their families, John of West Hartford, Robert and Carolyn of Manchester, Andrew and Sarah of Columbia and Michael and Brenda of Hebron.
She was the very special and loving Auntie Lynnie to her much loved 11 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews. Each was very special to Lynn. Also, to grieve her passing, her friend and colleague Alesia Gagnon. Lynn was predeceased by her very beloved brother Tom and a special sister-in-law Jane.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Interment will be private. Funeral services have been entrusted to the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield.
