
Lena 'Lee' (Scalzo) Civitillo, 82, of West Hartford, wife of the late Nicholas A. Civitillo, Sr. died Friday, (January 9, 2009) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Antoinette (Nesta) Scalzo and lived in West Hartford for most of her life. She was a graduate of Weaver High School in 1944. She communicant of St. Peter Claver Church, West Hartford and was a member of Boys Town of Italy. A dedicated and loving wife and mother, she is survived four sons and daughters-in-law, John and Elaine Civitillo of Farmington, Nicholas Civitillo, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Simsbury, William and Kathy Civitillo of West Hartford, and James and Maryellen Civitillo of Wethersfield; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and James Hedgepeth of Castalia, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Julie Scalzo of Rocky Hill; a sister and brother-in-law, Veronica and Dr. Cyril Kim of Manchester, eleven grandchildren, Alicia and John Civitillo, Jr., Victor Civitillo and his wife Stefanie and their children, Damian, Blaine and Tara, Nick Civitillo, III and his wife Danielle, Whitney, Martha and William Civitillo, Jr., Danielle and Jennifer Civitillo, A.J. and Nicole Hedgepeth; and many nieces nephews and close family. She was predeceased by her brother Anthony Scalzo. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the Palliative Care Department at St. Francis Hospital and to Home Instead Senior Care. The Funeral is Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Claver Church, 47 Pleasant St. West Hartford. Everyone is invited to go directly to church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, 4-8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield.
