Helen D. (Palmer) Vasquez, 92, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Vasquez passed away peacefully on November 19, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Helen was born on May 26, 1924 in Burlington, VT., and was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Nellie Palmer. A dedicated Catholic, she was a longtime faithful communicant of Corpus Christi Church. Helen was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time at Hampton Beach, NH bowling and being with her family. She was an excellent cook and her culinary treats will be missed. Helen leaves behind her sons, Joseph A. Vasquez and his wife Marie of Rocky Hill, James M. Vasquez of Newington, her daughters, Celeste Mann of Newington, Sharon Maycock and David of Rocky Hill and Debra Vasquez and Peter Rhodes of Cromwell and devoted daughter-in-law Lynn Vasquez. In addition she leaves her grandchildren; Cara, Marissa, Joey, Daniel, Rachel, Julia, Nathaniel and Nicholas and great-grandchildren; Daniel, Cole, Benjamin, Natashia, Kendra, Kyle, Devin and Jacob. In addition to her husband and parents Helen was predeceased by her sister-in-law Mary Vasquez and her grandson Benjamin Maycock. A special thanks to her devoted care taker Evelyn at Elm Hill Convalescent home. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 9 – 10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Corpus Christi Church.
