Our sister, daughter, niece, cousin, friend, Billie Marie Scelza passed away peacefully in her sleep at her dad's home on October 25, 2017. But since we cannot bring ourselves to write an obituary that even comes close to reflecting Billie's life, here is the note that she may want all of us to read…
With love for you:
Hold your family close to your heart for they are your lifeline.
Work hard at your friendships as they truly become your family.
Laugh as many times as you can - every day with everyone.
Pick a job you love to do - with people you love to do it with.
Be open about your problems and share what's going on in your life.
Be silly, I mean really silly. It's infectious and fun.
Cook lots of food and often - it brings people together.
Love deeply and true with your whole heart and soul.
Adopt a dog. Unconditional love is an amazing experience.
Your life is not defined by marriage or kids or wealth or things.
Your life is not defined by what you look like, the color of your hair, or how many wrinkles you have to show.
Give of yourself and when you think you have nothing left, just give a little more.
Talk to the lonely. Acknowledge the street people: they can make you smile.
Believe in goodness; the world needs you to.
Be goodness; you owe that to your soul.
Hope for peace; hope for love, and don't expect anything less.
Remember me ...
I am the butterfly that greets you.
I am the sunshine on your face.
I am the blue sky on a rainy day.
I am in the breath you take.
I am the love you share.
I am with you always.
Forever,
Billie
