Barbara F. (Couture) Mobilia, 71, of Bloomfield, beloved wife for 15 years to Dominic A. Mobilia, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 18, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born on September 11, 1946 in Laconia, New Hampshire to the late Lucien and Janet (Ackerman) Couture. She received her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph, and in 2006 she achieved her dream of earning her Master of Social Work from Fordham University. Barbara was member at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hartford. She had a true love for education, the arts, and music. Barbara had a passion for international travel and also enjoyed her weekends at Lake Hayward in Colchester. Above all, she deeply valued time spent with her family.
Along with her husband, she will lovingly be remembered by her four beautiful daughters, Suzanne Friedman of Seattle, WA, Kathryn and Michael Lunardelli of Providence, RI, Valerie and Andrew McVey of Bethel, and Elizabeth Friedman of Arlington, MA as well as their father, Ronald Friedman of West Hartford. She also leaves her sister, Carol Haddad of Bethesda, MD, her brothers, Gregory and Celeste Couture of Franklin, NH, and Bruce and Maureen Couture of Pelham, NH. She was adored by her grandchildren Grace, Hope, Tyler, Owen and Erin, as well as her many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her extended family: Alice Cowan of Brooklyn, NY and Janet and David Radomski of West Hartford.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Friday (May 25) at 11 a.m. at the Unitarian Society of Hartford, 50 Bloomfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will be private. Friends and family may pay their respects prior to the service, from 9-10:30 a.m., at the Unitarian Society. Services have been entrusted to the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield.
