Angel Manuel Martinez, 37, of Hartford, passed away on November 26, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. Angel was born on July 10, 1985 and was the beloved son of Zenaida Reyes Cruz and Angel L. Martinez. He grew up on Madison Avenue and was known by everyone in the neighborhood as “Furby”. A graduate of the Hartford School System, Angel was employed in healthcare services as a Patient Healthcare Technician.
Everyone knew Angel as an intelligent, outgoing, energetic, bubbly and goofy guy. His charismatic personality always made him the center of attention wherever he was. True to his kind personality, Angel always made sure everyone around him was happy and he knew exactly what to say to make you laugh. He easily was the light of the party.
Angel was such a kind and caring person, genuine to his soul. He never hesitated to do anything for anyone, whether family or friend. He would give you the shirt off his back, even if it was the only one he owned. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him and will always be remembered as a true stand-up guy.
Angel enjoyed going to the beach, eating, (especially seafood), driving around in his slingshot and traveling. Angel loved to cook, especially grilling during the summer and inviting friends and family to come over to enjoy a good time together. A devoted Raiders fan, he enjoyed hanging out with friends watching football and boxing.
He was especially cherished by his family, a devoted father, he loved his children and especially enjoyed spending time at the park with his daughter he called “baby girl”.
Angel will be greatly missed by his loving children, Kyzair, Kylon, Kamiyah and the mother of his children of 23 years, Teresa.
In addition to his parents, Angel is survived by his step-dad Orlando, his brothers Angel, Jose, Alex, Ryan, Anthony, Micheal, Reynaldo, and Orlando, along with his sisters, Ashley, Jeniffer and Candis.
He will be missed by his honored grandmother, Maria, his aunts, Sonia, Mary, Isabel, Carmen and Ana, his uncles, Victor, Roberto, and Julio, his nieces and nephews, Arieley, Leo, Michael, Zerenity, Kingston, Zariah, Jeremiah, Luis, Angel, August, Jyzae, Vanalie, Elijah, King, Jeneddis, Heriberto, Cayden, Jayda, Javian, Neveah, Armani, Mason, Jaiden, Janciel, Jecsiel and Noah.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 8th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Angel’s Life beginning at 1 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
