Mary Kathryn Cassidy

Mary Kathryn Cassidy passed from this life peacefully and surrounded by her family on Monday, September 3, 2018. Mary is survived by her three children: Michael, Patricia (John McDermott), and Catherine (Randy Ballin). She is predeceased by her son, Christopher Michael. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Colin, Daniel, Katherine, Timothy, Blair and Blake. Mary is also survived by her husband Owen D. Cassidy. She is predeceased in death by her mother Catherine Ketterer Shurter.

Mary was born in Kingston, N.Y. on November 2nd 1928 and graduated from Saint Ursula Academy in Kingston in June 1946. She graduated from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, C.T. in June 1950 and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in June 1951. After a brief position at Electral Inc., she married her long time boyfriend and neighbor Owen. Together they raised their family in Emerson, N.J. where Mary was an active participant at R.C. Church of the Assumption, the Assumption School and the Assumption Choir. Mary devoted her entire life to family and faith, the cornerstones of her life.

A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Friday, September 7 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Mary’s life and faith will be held at R.C. Church of the Assumption, Emerson, NJ on Saturday, September 8 at 1:00PM. May she rest in eternal peace.
