I'm so sorry for your loss.  My folks are 90 and it seems they are not that far from heaven.

I want to sincerely thank you all for your kind words and remembrances of my Mom. While her passing leaves me heartbroken and with a definite void in my life and daily routine, it has been very comforting and heartwarming to read how much others who knew her loved her and treasured her as much as her family did. She was a remarkable woman ... kind, compassionate, funny, plucky and sassy, all rolled into one. As unique as they come. In the words of my brother, "she done good!"

Heaven is her home now, but I'm sure she'll be keeping watch over us all.

Mrs. Somerville was a one of a kind who earned respect by giving it, and by far the most popular substitute teacher in the district. She was an unforgettable feisty character, full of life and a bit mischievous herself. Her kind ways and huge heart will be remembered forever. I'll never forget when she showed up at my brother's funeral in 1998 even though I had moved out of Hillsdale 18 years earlier. What a thoughtful and compassionate person. The world needs more Mrs. Somervilles! Love and condolences to her family members and friends. RIP to a great lady.

Mrs. Somerville was a gentle soul with a huge heart able to share love wherever she went. Condolences to her family. There is an angel in heaven.May this candle light your path on this difficult journey .

I remember your Mom fondly.  She was a great neighborhood Mom in New Milford. Always had an open door and a pitcher of Kool-Aid ready for all the kids. Lynn Somerville was a big part of PVHS for decades and touched the lives of so many students and teachers.  Her positive outlook on life and her sense of humor was infectious.  She will be missed by all who came in contact with Lynn.

She was the best teacher I had PVHS.She will be greatly missed buy many.My condolences to her family may she Rest In Peace.

She was the heart of pvhs.  She new everyone by their name.  Always had a smile on her face.  You never wanted to get her mad.  RIP.

I am honored to have had you touch my life in so many ways, Mrs. Somerville.  My siblings and I were blessed to grow up with your amazing children, a true reflection of their wonderful parents. Had such a wonderful experience having her work at Stonybrook Swim Club, all the kids loved her!  The members use to chat with her and she would sweep her station every time she worked. Now she is laughing in heaven with the love of her life "SLIM". Rest in Peace Patty Hughes - Stonybrook Director :)

Mrs. Somerville was such a kind and wonderfully sassy woman. She touched so many lives including mine. She will forever be a PV Icon. Thoughts & prayers to her family and friends.

Mrs. Somerville made the school day a lot brighter.  Always had an encouraging word to share in the hallways.

Have known The Sommerville family since 1960 from the older boys all the way down to Dale. Spent time in her house when we were young and was blessed to have her as a substitute  teacher at times as she always had a great sense if humor and loved being with the kids. We used to run into each other at times and even 50+ years later she always remembered me. RIP Mrs Sommerville you are in a better place now where your students will all listen to you when you speak. Love to all the family.

Owen and I send our best to the whole Somerville family. We always remember going through the hedge to your house on Christmas Eve while at the Dinnenys. You would have loved to see how many people have written their wonderful memories of you.

You had the ability to make even the toughest students tow the line with just one look and that twinkle in your eye. It is a very rare and special kind of person who can claim such an overwhelmingly positive impact on everyone they meet over the course of their lifetime. Mrs. Somerville, is most certainly one of those rare and special kind of people. And I still say "is" because she will remain in the thoughts and memories of countless numbers whose lives are better for having had her touch them, even if just for the briefest of moments.

You touched so many of our lives as a sub at PVHS.  When I found out you would be subbing in a class I was in I felt at peace because you were always so warm and caring.   You'll be missed and forever in our hearts

Any day became a great day when a PVHS class had Mrs. Somerville, she was always happy, always kind and never let the bad guys get away with anything!  She lived a wonderful long life, raised a great family and gave joy to many people.

Mrs. Somerville was a blessing to all those she came in contact with and we all were lucky to have had her in our lives during our formative years! She was a well loved woman in our town.  My children had the privilege of knowing here during their school years and always spoke so highly of her.

Sommerville will be sorely missed!!! Not only was she an amazing sub at PV but she was an incredibly kind and compassionate individual.  It didn't matter if you saw her on the street or in the store, she always stopped to say hi and have a conversation with you, whether you were a current student or one that graduated years before.  We love you Sommerville and will miss you! <3

she was a ball of fire, she never slowed down and everyone at PVHS loved her. Kids actually went to class when she was the sub. She will be missed. Mrs Somerville and my mom worked together when sears had a catalog  store in Emerson nj. Heaven got a real great lady

A true champion and friend to everyone she embraced. A one in a million lady. I am a better person for having had the opportunity to know her and learn from her wisdom, kindness and quick wit. The next generation of students at PV have lost a champion. She is in good company now and I pray that God will allow her to continue to shine in her new community as she did in Hillsdale. She will be missed.

I had the pleasure of calling Lynn every night to send her to the Valley the next day to sub. Always had such kind words to say, She absolutely loved going to work and seeing the kids each day. Such a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed by all. So sorry for your family loss.

Your mother was a wonderful lady who was full of stories. I always loved seeing her outside of PV on the streets of Hillsdale often outside of Pascack Pharmacy. She always remembered everyone of her students. She touched so many people's lives. May she live on in your hearts forever and be at peace with God.
