On September 7, 2019, the soul of John F. Lamoreaux passed from this world into God’s hands. At the time of passing he was surrounded by his wife and love, Joyce (nee Buonocore) of sixty two years. He is also the father of Cheryl and Susan Ballanco (nee Lamoreaux) and her husband Jerry plus grandsons Doug and Greg Ballanco.
John was born on April 5, 1933 in Liberty NY as was his late father and brother. He had resided in the North Jersey region since 1939. John was the academic product of the Parochial school, The Immaculate Conception located in Darlington, NJ, plus Ramsey High School. He was an All-State football player for 2 of his 4 years at Ramsey and received an athletic scholarship to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. Service in the military followed with stations in Korea during the police action and later in Europe as an NCO in charge of equipment supply for the 2nd Armored Division and US Army Europe. After completing military service John completed additional academic studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University (BS and MBA) plus the Wharton School, Columbia and The New School in NYC.
John entered industry in late 1955 at Bendix Aviation in Teterboro, NJ. Employment followed at IT&T, the Nordon Division of United Technologies in Norwalk, CT. In between the two latter names sites he also served in the Easter Electronic Tub Division of Varian Associates ant C-TECH (Commonwealth Telephone) in Wilkes Barre, PA. He moved up in management relatively fast serving as General Manager or President of several of the named corporations.
John was preceded in death by his mother Anna (nee Soracco), father Virge, and brother William and William’s wife Patsy Ann.
He leaves this world proud of his family and many relatives. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the NY Football Giants, holding season tickets for the latter since 1962 through this year.
Funeral services will be held at the Becker Funeral Home in Westwood NJ, visiting hours from 2 to 4 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM Monday September 9. The Funeral Mass will be held at The Church of the Assumption in Emerson NJ. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories in Washington Township, NJ.
