I first met Chris when he was a two year old toddler in a playpen.  When I entered the house with his mom and his sister, Nancy, Chris greeted us with a smile.  That smile is his signature , present in most pictures of him.  

Like many, I am still shocked by your passing.  We already miss your smile, laughter, energy.  At the wake, there were hundreds of people.  There, by six degrees of Chris Lubben, I saw your niece, Olivia, who happens to be my student.  The Mass was beautiful with extra music and a flash of light:  so many present heard the priest bless you and your dear family.  We are sorry, some are bewildered and all are sad.  How could we feel any other way?  You were instantly, immensely missed, Chris.  "To love another person is to see the face of God."  Rest and peace to you .  Here is a picture of you with Nan. 

Lubes was one of our best friends from Kutztown University.  He will always be remembered for his no-nonsense enthusiasm for life! He always made us laugh til the day he passed and we will continue laughing with you Lubes forever! We pray you are in a better place in Heaven now and pranking everyone up there! To your family, Jen, Steph and kids, please know we are with you all in spirit today and praying for your strength in the difficult days ahead.

I met Chris at Kutztown in 1982 and I cherish the many wonderful memories that we shared as residents of Beck Hall.  I am grateful that we were able to reconnect via Facebook and also see each other at KU homecoming. I am forever thankful to you my friend!  It was 4 years ago when you called me and said "a store is available in New Milford and you can get it cheap".  Former Chicken n Rib Crib is Glaze Donuts.  I am thankful, I owe my success to you!!!  I will never forget your continued support and all the things you have done for me.  My favorite line  "carry on".  May God grant you everlasting happiness and rest.  You will be missed!  Prayers to the family!

Chris has been my friend since he was in my seventh grade class. Everytime he saw me he said something to make me feel good. I am going to miss his friendship and will forever remember his great smile.

The first time I met Chris was at the town's Easter egg hunt.  He was dressed as the Easter bunny and knew my daughter by name.  She was so impressed that the bunny knew her, yet we didn't know who it was at the time.  We will always remember the kindness he showed the children of the town.  May he rest in peace.

I have fond memories of Chris at soccer games for so many years and at family gatherings.  My heartfelt sympathy to the entire family and prayers for solace at this terrible time. May your profound loss be a bit easier to bear with each passing day!

I can remember my brother Neil Pollio and I spending many days in the summer at Chris’s house swimming in the pool and catching glow in the dark flies, we have such fond memories of Chris.  We are so very sad and sorry for your loss.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Chris was a great guy and a good friend to my brother Neil.

I first met Chris at K-town where he constantly bugged my roommates and I to patronize his Avon business. After graduation and though the years our friendship grew with his dedication to bringing people together to have a good time.  He liked to stir the pot with his Christie support-teacher-bashing-snow day antics which I knew to take with a grain of salt.  Over the years he would check in more frequently escpecially when both of us had gone through life changing events and was always supportive. Everywhere I went people would know Chris Lubben and it became a thing for us to take pictures and post #sixdegreesofchrislubben. For all his shenanigans he had a heart of gold. I hope that the great things about Chris will comfort his family in the weeks to come. He will be missed!

Life has provided so many moments offering profound memories to cradle dearly in our heart.  Loss of a precious soul is a moment in time carrying a hollowness, vacant emptiness and sadness in our being.  Chris will be remembered by me with a warm smile, honking his horn and singing out his meat truck window in the wee hours of the morning as I ran through the sleepy,  morning, winding roads of Oradell. I will, as I pray you will, move forward with a warmth in my heart remembering his constant kindness to me as a friend.   I have dwelled long enough in a somber sense by his loss, now, and forever more, I will forge ahead knowing he rests in his peaceful place.  Live with the honor of his goodness remaining in your smile.  I believe Chris would wish this to be his legacy for us all.

Years ago when Tony’s brother was diagnosed with Leukemia Chris was the first one in town to come to our house to have his cheek swabbed to see if he was a bone marrow match. He hardly knew Tony and me but he was the first one here...we have never forgotten that gesture. We wish we could have returned his kindness. I will however continue to provide mental health first aid training and support to others in our community who need help and pay it forward in this small way . Our deepest condolescences to all of you.

Anyone who new Chris would say he was "one of a kind."  He was always full of energy and life.  He was an ardent supporter of River Dell High School and his community.  Always volunteering his time to youth athletics with a passion to make his players better people both on and off the field.  He always had a great laugh and smile that was uniquely his own.  We will never forget so many of his hilarious posts on Facebook and the way he spoke his mind with a partial filter.  He was an "ENERGY" that our community will miss, but never forget.  Keeping your family in our prayers.  Gone way too soon....RIP Lubes.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Chris Lubben. I am deeply saddened to learn of his loss—he was a fine and fun gentleman.  May his memory be a blessing to you all.

One of the things I keep seeing from everyone is how he was “larger than life”.   I knew him as a young girl having to deal with crazy, noisy college student neighbors and I can agree that those words fit him perfectly!  I wouldn’t have changed knowing him for the world!  From goldfish, to markers, to helping me with homework and watching Saturday morning WWF wrestling....I will never forget him!!  Keeping the whole family in my thoughts.

I met Chris when my daughter Julia, who just graduated Riverdell, was only five years old! We were at the Swim Club and “some guy” picked her up and threw her up and into the water. She had a huge smile on her face. I jumped up and said aloud, who is that guy!! Several people said, “oh thats just Chris Lubben, the kids LOVE him. He laughed at me and we were friends from that moment. He was just hysterical, kind and full of life. This is a tragedy beyond. Just devastating news. Chris will be missed by so many. RIP

Larger than life, always willing to lend a hand and unrelentless pot stirrer. Chris was a hometown boy, loved his kids, loved his friends. As I read some of his last Facebook posts, I look for clues for what was to come and I see nothing indicating something was wrong.  He was a loyal and loving friend, he will be deeply missed.
