It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an extraordinary man, a pillar to his family, and a beloved family member. Alfred DiLorenzo of Upper Saddle River, NJ bid farewell to this world on August 4, 2023.
Born on June 8, Alfred embraced life with unmatched vigor and ambition. His unwavering dedication to his family and his work made him an inspiration to all who knew him. He was often referred to as a “jewel.” He was a warm, kind hearted man. Throughout his life, he exemplified excellence in everything he pursued, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have crossed his path.
Alfred was a true epitome of success, achieving great heights in his professional career, commencing with his enlistment in the US Marine Corp. (1955-1959). After his honorable discharge, he married his first love, Joyce (nee Bellocchio; predeceased Nov, 2002). Following that he had several careers that led him to Bell Atlantic, retiring as Vice President of Sales for the Yellow Page division. He was an entrepreneur who fearlessly pursued his dreams of music, film and theater acting, golf and travel establishing an empire that became a lighthouse for others. Al was a hardworking man and retirement was not in his vocabulary, this lead to working alongside of his son Paul, owner of Prestige Auto Body, Pearl River, NY where Al handled the management of the business. His tireless devotion, sharp intellect, and unparalleled work ethic enabled him to accomplish feats that were both remarkable and awe-inspiring. His contributions to his work and his commitment to excellence will forever be remembered.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alfred was a loving and devoted family man. His unwavering love and support for family was the cornerstones of his existence. His wishes were to always be surrounded by family and holidays were his most cherished times. He was always there to offer guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear. Cherished memories of family vacations, celebrations, and small moments of joy will forever be treasured by those who were blessed to be a part of his life.
Though we mourn the loss of Alfred’s physical presence, his spirit will forever be alive in our hearts. His wisdom, strength and kindness will be passed down through generations, leaving an everlasting impact on all those who knew him.
As we pay our final respects, let us remember Alfred as a man of integrity, honor, and resilience. His legacy serves as a testament to the power of perseverance, the value of hard work, and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones.
Al is lovingly survived by Denise Mercier, his loving and devoted significant other of eighteen years and his children; David DiLorenzo and his wife Carol; Paul DiLorenzo; Arlene DiLorenzo; Gregory DiLorenzo and his wife, Elizabeth. Grandfather to Nina, Nicholas, Heather, Tyler, Damian and Andrew. Great Grandfather to Madelyn and a host of relatives, friends, and colleagues who will carry his memory forward. Together, let us celebrate his remarkable life and find solace in the profound impact he had on our lives.
May you rest in eternal peace, dear Alfred. You will be deeply missed, but always remembered.

219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday August 12, 2023 at Becker Funeral Home at 10:30 am followed by procession to George Washington Memorial Park located at 234 Paramus Road in Paramus , NJ.
