She lives on in us all! To me, in every orchid flower, in the 'green thumb'  of my mother (as we say in german to someone who can plant anything even upside down and it will flourish anyway) or in my very own little plant orphanage at home. In loving memory. Henriette Mai Huong.

Me, I miss you so much already.  I was blessed with the best mother-in-law a young woman could ever ask for & I treasured our relationship.  You taught me so much and loved so deeply and welcomed me as a daughter. You were an amazing example of strength, kindness and grace. You were devoted to Bo and showed me by example how to be a great wife. You loved your kids  & gave them the ability to achieve great things.  No one could love their grand kids more.  You also encouraged them to do their best. Thank you for being you-the high tech grandma, the bearer of random gifts that I didn't know I needed but actually did,  the covert planter of orchids & "spicy" plants &  someone I could always talk to. Thank you for leaving an amazing legacy. Thank you for your ability to persevere & thrive despite adversity. May we remember & carry on good works for you. I am so proud to have had you as my second mom.  You will be greatly missed

It's hard for us to believe that you're gone!
My sons, Tennis and Sam said when they have been asked about you:" I remember Ba Lieu was so generous, she made us the best Cha com and Pho in the State on the night we arrived." 
Your warm welcome, your careness when you hosted us will never been forgotten.

Me and the family will surely miss the presence of you- a truly lovable and kind person !!!

Được tin cô Liệu qua đời, chúng cháu ở bên này vô cũng thương tiếc vì sự ra đi quá đột ngột, vẫn biết luật vô thường, ai cũng phải trải qua Sinh, lão, bệnh, tử...
Cháu thay mặt cho gia đình cháu và đại gia đình họ Phạm, xin gửi tới chú Việt và gia đình lời chia buồn sâu sắc và niềm thương tiếc vô hạn. Chú mất đi một người Vợ hiền, các con mất đi một người Bà mẫu mực, chắt mất đi một người Cụ tuyệt vời. Ở VN đã tổ chức làm lễ Yết cáo gia tiên (báo cáo tổ tiên có người con ra đi) cho cô.
Cháu còn nhớ mãi năm 1997, cô chú về VN chơi thàm họ hàng, đi từ Bắc tới Đà Nẵng, vào miền NAm. Nhất là gia đình cháu được vinh dự đón cô chú tại 28 Lò Sũ, HN. Và cũng thật may mắn cho cháu và con dâu, 2 cháu nội đã có dịp đặt chân lên nước Mỹ, tới thăm cô chú 6 tháng trước đây. Cô chú và các em đã đón tiếp chúng cháu tận tình, trong không khí vui sướng, thân mật, cháu đã được ở cùng vói cô chú và em, đưa chúng cháu đi thăm quan, gặp gỡ họ hàng họ Phạm,  họ Nghiêm thật đầm ấm.
Cô là người phụ nữ tuyệt vời, đã chăm sóc chú tận tình chu đáo hàng ngày, bữa cơm giấc ngủ, chăm lo sức khoẻ cho chú. Cô vẫn còn sử dụng chiếc máy khâu để xẻ tay áo cho chú đi chạy thận. Cô là người đảm đang, tháo vát, tề gia nội trợ, phục vụ gia đình chu đáo, các em các cháu thành đạt tới ngày hôm nay, trở thành  Bác sỹ, kỹ sư có sự đóng góp to lớn của cô!
Khi đến ngày quay trở lại VN, cháu còn nhớ cô sắp xếp lo quà cho không những gia đình cháu mà cả họ hàng, các em nhiều thứ, rất chu đáo! Chú cũng thật mãn nguyện khi hoàn thành xong cuốn gia phả họ Phạm công phu khi tuổi cao, sức khoẻ kém để cháu mang về VN.
Rất tiếc tới nay cả nhà không có ai để sang Mỹ dự lễ truy điệu của cô ngày 7/6 được.
Cháu luôn luôn lễ Phật, cầu niệm Đức Phật cho cô được siêu thoát, được vãng sinh tịnh độ, được về Tây phương cục lạc. " Nam mô tây phương cục lạc, thế giới đại từ đại bi, tiếp dẫn đạo sự, A di đà Phật"
Cuối cùng, cháu mong chú và cả nhà vượt qua nỗi mất mát to lớn này.

In January of 2016, I was lucky enough to join a huge and loving family led by Bà as the matriarch.  Whether telling Kim she liked my dimples in Vietnamese the first time we met, sharing how she thought I would be good for Kim during our wedding or brightening up every holiday celebration, Bà always had kind words to say and went out of her way to ensure I felt like part of the family.  Another lasting memory I have of Bà was only a few weeks ago when she told me Ông was her superman.  Kim and I will always think of Bà each time we water the flowers she gave us and get together for family gatherings.  She will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Cùng tất cả thân bằng quyến thuộc bạn bè bà con trong cái dịp đau buồn này:  tôi xin có mấy lời cùng quý vị;
 Thứ nhất tôi Là Phạm Văn Việt cựu trung tá  Đạn dược  cục quân cụ thuộc quân lực Việt Nam Cộng Hòa. Tôi có một chuyện rất đau buồn là bà xã tên Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Liệu đã qua rồi và sẽ được  làm đám tang vào 7 tháng 6 năm 2018,  bắt đầu 11.00 giờ. 



I will miss my special aunt. I remember her smile. She is generous and always think of others.  She always ask us "Do you want fishes?  They are fresh. I just got them from the fishermen". I can't find pictures of her and my family. However, I found this picture of her and my mom from bac Tung's collection (taken in Vietnam).  Enjoy the memory.

I will miss my mom dearly.  She always has a big smile on her face. I will remember what she told me time and time "Chinh, slow down, you are going too fast". Yes may be I will slow down and think about the time I spent with her.
