Anh Đối và Chị Thuý lần đầu gặp em ở Hawaii đâu có ngờ đó là lần cuối.  Chỉ một lần mà làm sao Anh Chị quên được Huy một người nhã nhặn, thân thiện với khuôn mặt lúc nào cũng sáng ngời nụ cười.

I wanted to always remember Huy as a younger brother who always kept a low profile, quiet and humble. Huy seems to always smile - even when he's not.
We shared a few years growing up in Bien Hoa air base and kept in touch years after migrating to the US. Our families have always been close. In the winters I would fly to Aurora and we would go skiing together-even night skiing; Huy dares to do thing like that.
So Huy, I'm so glad we had those memories and thankful that our paths have crossed. Sleep well.

Huy was more than a friend. He was like family to me- a big brother . He was genuine, generous, kind and very smart. I never met someone in my life that was as perfect as he was . I feel so blessed for the time that I have spent with him and so sad that we have lost an Angel . 
I hope that I can carry on his legacy: to help others , to be positive no matter what life throws at you and to keep on smiling and enjoying life to the fullest. Huy will always have a special place in my heart. 
 

We were in shock when we first heard of Huy’s passing, then the sadness came when we realized that Huy was gone forever. We will never see Huy again. After the initial shock and sadness was regret, we regretted for not getting in touch with Huy more often since he moved to CA.  
We were brought together by tennis and poker. Every time we saw Huy at the tennis court, we’re so happy because Huy was always busy with his work even on weekends. On poker nights, it didn’t matter at whose house, Huy always set the quitting time. “Doctor Huy (we fondly called Huy) said we will stop at 1 o’clock”, someone at the table announced. I was always the one who protested because I wanted to play on.
Doctor Huy, we want to play on with you, we don’t want to quit. You’re dealt with a mediocre hand but you play it well. Win or lose, you always have a smile on your face. You are a winner in our hearts, and we always love you. Farewell, Doctor Huy, may you rest in peace.

Huy was more than a friend, he was like family to me.  I'm getting chills just to write this memory.  I can still recall all the parties, the get togethers, the night clubs, the holidays, the dinners, movies, and many many other good times that we shared together.  Huy was a genuine, sincere, honest, considerate person with great attitude and personality.  Everyone who knew him will remember him most for his laughs, his sense of humor, and his intelligence.  He was smart, funny, and had such a positive outlook in life.  

I was glad I had an opportunity to see Huy back in May 2021.  He looked great and still had that unmistakable laughs and the positive attitude.  I was so happy for him.  

I'm so shocked and saddened to find out that the illness had won over him.  I've lost a good friend.  My heart sank.  To his family and love ones, we have lost a unique member.  To the world, it has lost a  unique individual.  Our lives and our hearts will forever be filled with an empty gap.  

We love you Huy.  Thank you for all the memories.  Till we meet again.

I met Huy in 7th grade and we were friends from then on.  I think of him every day and will miss his friendship, good humor, and laugh.  I have so many memories with Huy, school, soccer, college roommates, skiing, and many days just hanging out.  My deepest sympathy to Huy’s entire family.

“A friend in need is a friend in deed!”.  Huy was that kind of friend.  He was there when I needed him, and never asked anything in return.   

Huy was kind, caring, and generous.  I will always remember his bright smiles, his optimism, his loving kindness, and his positive outlooks on life. 

Thank you Huy for all the precious memories, for all the miles we ran, biked, and skied together.  We had ran many races together but you got to the finish line before me on this one.  You were gone but never forgotten.  Your legacy will live on!  Goodbye my forever friend anhtisun! I miss you!


To all who knew Huy, he can be described as fun, loving, happy, full of life, and he had a great sense of humor. To me, Huy was a sweet, kind, and generous friend. At the beginning of his illness, Huy told me that he would often envision that he would someday take care of his parents in their old age; not the other way around. He was saddened by that aspect more than his Cancer diagnoses. For that, Huy was a good and loving son. Throughout his illness, Huy never once complained to me about what he had to go through. For that, I can add resilient and courageous to describe him. The phrase, “Only the good die young,” definitely had some truth to it. Rest In Peace, Huy. You will be missed greatly. My prayers are with you and your family. My deepest condolences to Huy’s parents and family. 

Grateful for all the memories and laughs we shared. Chu Huy knew how to enjoy life to the fullest while still being able to ensure that the rest of the family was having an amazing time. 

Huy was the epitome of what a good friend looks like. He was truly someone you could look up to and rely on. I wish with all my heart he was still here. I will always miss his goofy laugh and sense of humor. I will also miss our serious talks and advice. I hope he knew how much his friendship meant to me. I know he’s in a better place, but he definitely took a little piece of my heart with him. Rest In Peace my friend. We will meet again sometime. We will have lots of stories to tell each other. Love you always! 

This amazing man has been my boss, my mentor and most of all my friend for 30 years. I will always remember his infectious laugh and all the tomfoolery that happened at work. There is a very special place in my heart for Huy and I will miss him tremendously.  My thoughts and prayers are with his amazing family. ❤

I very much enjoyed my conversations with Huy on our Manoa Falls hike in October.  He was cheerful and kind and enjoyed the beautiful Hawaiian nature and the rain.  He spoke of how he loved the rain when he lived in Seattle!  I'm so happy he was able to enjoy his Hawaii  family trip, feeling good and having fun.  May Huy Rest In Peace in a beautiful place beyond what we know here 🌈❤️.   My heartfelt condolences to Huy's close-knit, loving family. ~ Crystal M.
