He also was an avid Ham Radio operator and had a wide range of friends he regularly corresponded with from all over the world.
He was preceded in death by his father Russell, mother Myrna, and his brother Bruce. He is survived by his sister Lisa (Marge), wife Lolita, his four Children, Brent (Gail), Brandon (Christina), Bradley (Renee), and Kristen Concannon (Traighe), two grandchildren, his ex-wife Cathryn Hughes (Al), two nephews, a niece, and many cousins, friends, and admirers.
Dad was an amazing man; from our earliest memories, conversations were full of theoretical physics, electronics, technology, and astronomy. He was an intellectual powerhouse, a sworn futurist, and eternal optimist, and a champion for equality and fair play. He was eclectic, with a wild and wide-ranging taste in music. He was a free thinker, with a huge sense of offbeat humor and biting wit that he would unleash on fools without regrets. A true original, he lived by his own rules, and we loved him for it. Also, he loved us; he had a huge heart and loved his family dearly. Rest in peace Dad. We will cherish our memories of you like the great treasure they are. We love you.
