Bob Harper of VFW Post 11395 reported the loss of Robert at our District 8 meeting. We share your loss. May he rest in peace and our memories of him live on. Semper Fi Marine.

Van was a true friend. We shared many hours working at Carter Corp. I was fortunate to have tutored him in the business. He was a true blessing in my life. Boy could we tell some great stories about the times the bull chased us from a pasture we were looking to put up a billboard. He would always have a joke for you. We had many good times working together. Thoughts of Van will always be remembered. What a legacy he leaves his family.I will be looking for you when the Lord takes me home. Van, what a great guy! When we were kids he come come from work and let us kids get in this small car we called the skate, he would drive us in circles with us giggling in the back seat. 
I remember talking with him after my pop passed away, and the lights above the computer went on and off! He told me it was my pop letting me know he was there.

Van was such a wonderful, fun man who was the life of every party.  We shared may good times with him and will always remember how fantastic he played the piano. Our prayers go out to his family.
