After a courageous 25 year battle with Parkinson Disease, Richard passed away peacefully in Thousand Oaks, with his daughters by his side.
Richard was one of four children born to the late Peter and Agnes Valentine. He was born and raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from Marshall High School. He was very athletic and frequented the YMCA often where he met his loving wife of 60 years Dolores Valentine who preceded him in death in 2010.
Richard served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany and traveled throughout Europe for a year before returning to the States, he and his wife Dolores lived in Texas and Washington D.C. before taking up residence in Chicago, Illinois. He will forever be remembered by his beloved children Laura Nielsen and Lynn Palomares, treasured grandchildren Keith Palomares, Kristopher and his wife Samantha Palomares, great grandsons Anthony Palomares, and Jaxson Palomares, his brother Jerry Valentine, along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him.
Richard loved sports, especially golf in his later years, being with his family, and having fun. He was generous, loving and a joy to be around and will be dearly missed.
