Peggy Jean Avetissian

Peggy Jean Avetissian (nee Adgent) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday August 18th, 2024, at home in Oak Park CA.

Peggy was born on January 12, 1941 in Shelbyville, TN to Willie Bell and Edgar Adgent. She graduated from Central High School in 1959. She moved to Washington DC after graduation where she was a secretary at the Department of the Navy. In Washington, DC she met and married her devoted husband of 63 years Vahan (Vic) Avetissian. Peggy was a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and had successful careers with Northrop, Litton and State Farm after raising her family.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband Vic, her son and daughter-in-law Mark and Pam Avetissian (The Villages, FL), her son Ivan Avetissian (Tucson, AZ), her granddaughter Alyssa Hankins (nee Avetissian) husband Brent and their son Eli (Berlin, Germany), her grandson Steven Avetissian and his fiancé Jess Griffith (Denver, CO), Katie Parrish (daughter of Pam Avetissian) her husband Wes and family, Cassidy Howard (daughter of Pam Avetissian) her husband JT and family, and brother-in-law Varooj (Joe) Avitsian and family.

Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday September 7th at 2:00pm at Pierce Brothers Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village CA 91362-4012. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Peggy’s name to The Alzheimer’s Association.
