Patricia Farley Morris

Patricia Farley Morris née Seeley, of Filmore, California passed away on Tuesday, August 20th at the age of 89. She was born on May 7th in Glendale, California where she grew up riding horses and waterskiing at Lake Arrowhead.

She graduated from University High School in Westwood, California in 1952. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1956 with a bachelor’s degree and a teaching credential. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

She worked as an Educator, first teaching in Beverly Hills, and then in Thousand Oaks California, where she eventually became the principal, then head of the school board at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School. During her tenure there she saw to the remodeling of Englund Hall and new construction of Canterbury Hall.

She was actively involved in the P.E.O. sisterhood, starting the high school scholarship program at her local chapter. She was on the board of the Fillmore Historical Museum and oversaw the relandscaping of the exterior of the museum, train depot and bunk house.

She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Farley and her mother, Ursula Stephenson Farley, her first husband, Bernard “Sky” Seeley, her sister Muriel Kuykendall Lott, her nephew Jim Kuykendall and her grand-nephew Chris Cantwell.

She is survived by her second husband, Bob Morris, his son Sean Morris and daughter-in-law Veronica Morris and grandsons Ian and Jack Morris, and stepdaughter Tonya Morris and her husband Roc Peters. Her son, Gregory Seeley and his wife Shannon Seeley, her daughter Treacy Seeley and her wife Mimi Gephart. Niece, Cindy Cantwell and her husband Jim, and grand nieces and nephews; Caroline & Chris Hussmann and their children Olivia and Ben, Jack Kuykendall and his daughter Analise, Jameson & Diane Kuykendall and their son Easton. Jim Kuykendall’s first wife Rose and second wife Sue.

Pat was a great traveler and at least once a year took Bob around the world, hitting most of Western and Eastern Europe, Western Asia, Australia and New Zealand, not to mention cruising the Panama Canal, Alaska, and many more, including river cruises in Europe and the United States. Pat loved living in country and she and Bob remodeled a 1910 Craftsman home, restoring its beauty, but updating it for the new century (and making sure it was designed for tall people).

The family would like to thank Livingston Caregivers and Dr. Mike Tushla for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bardsdale United Methodist Church, 1498 Bardsdale Ave, Fillmore, CA 93015 on September 8th at 2 pm. Reception to follow, please RSVP to the family, so we be sure to have enough food.
