Mayda Alonica Perez was born September 27, 1962 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She was very curious and enjoyed many activities as a child. She danced, played basketball, enjoyed running and listening to music. As she grew up she decided to move to America. At age 16 she traveled to America, fearlessly and alone. She brought with her a strong will, incredible strength, and the hope to create a better life for her and her family.
Once arriving in California, and with the help of new friends, she found work at age 17. At age 28 she married Francisco Ramirez. She continued to work and provided for her family. Many days after being at work on her feet all day, she would come home and cook dinner, help her daughters with their homework, and drive them to soccer practice. She was their most devoted fan. You could hear her cheering from her seat all the way down to the field. She never missed a game. She loved visiting and hanging out with her five daughters, Isabel , Marleny, Beatriz , Alexandra, and Leslie. She was very excited and proud of her grandchildren, Zirel, Sophia, Arturo, and Lucas. She always had time for her family, however, it better be an emergency, if you planned to interrupt her during her telenovelas. It was not a joke if she missed an episode.
She was humble, independent, and very encouraging to her children. She often told them to never give up and to always follow their heart. She was a wonderful cook and had a special way of making friends and even strangers feel like family. She will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
