A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Lou Moon Webster passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024 at the age of 79. Born in Mount Vernon, Texas, she grew up living on or near military bases across the western states with her parents and three sisters before attending and graduating from Colorado Woman's College. Lou spent time teaching elementary school in Great Falls, Montana, Federal Way, Washington and Honolulu, Hawaii and later worked for a decade as a real estate agent in Southern California.
She met her husband, Kent Webster, in Honolulu Hawaii, and they married 10 months later. Their 53-year marriage was a testament to enduring love and commitment. From Hawaii, Kent and Lou moved to Los Angeles for 5 years and Japan for 6 years. During this time, they welcomed their two wonderful daughters into the world, completing their family. After their stint in Japan, the Websters settled in Newbury Park, California, where they spent over 40 years growing their family and building community ties. Lou was a loving wife, devoted mother to her children and 5 Scottish Terriers, a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren, and a steadfast friend to many, including her Newbury Park softball community and her group of stitcher friends.
Lou Moon Webster is survived by her loving husband Kent, her daughter Sarah, her daughter Emily and wife Erin Hein; her daughter of the heart Heather Redding; her three grandchildren, Elliot Webster Hein, Bennett and Lilith Redding; her sister Gini Ketchem and her daughter Tennyson Dabney and husband Joe; her sister Jan Leatherman, Jan's husband, David, their son, Ryan and his sons, daughter Paige and her husband AT and their family, and countless others whose lives she touched, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
A private celebration of her life is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Scottie Rescue of Southern California in her memory.
May Lou's soul rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved, will never be forgotten, and will be held in our hearts forever.
