Hello April It is with a heavy heart I googled Howard because John Singleton passed away.             
        John Singleton was the guard at the stage on Pee Wee Herman. Well Howard was directly responsible for John Singleton making " boys in the hood"  and most likely allowing John to meet Larry Fishbourn, Cowboy Curtis, Larry or Lawrence as he is now known.  
        John Singleton came to me asking for film stock and camera supplies, to direct n shoot a music video. I told John to ask Howard and tell Howard I have things we can spare . John came back a little shaken . Howard said "if Jerry says so Don't bother me" !   Well I  gave John what he needed to shoot his music video everything and then some, !!      When John Singleton pitched Boy's In The Hood. He had the script and a music video. I learned of this at a lecture John gave at the American Film Market in Santa Monica. After the lecture to a full ball room in the hotel John spotted me andI saw him .John came over really excited and hugged me and invited me to Sony Columbia studios where he had an office.  John's entourage was looking at me wondering who is this dude with John wearing Hawaiian shirt and shorts. My attire I wore on Pee Wee . 
       Check this out I ran into Howard at the Beverly Center mall. Just after u gave birth at Cedars Howard said "Jerry u remember that kid who guarded the door at Pee Wee ?" Jerry "yeah John Singleton he's big time" Howard " well April was giving birth at Cedars and I walked over to the Beverly Center I'm walking around and these 3 black guys come come up on me I'm thinking April's giving birth and I'm getting mugged by a black guy at the Beverly Center.It was the guy who guarded the door from Pee Wee.  Hugging me "  I remember and grateful for Howard's trust during the Kenny Rogers concert. I prepared and tested all the camera packages  packed them up and flew out meeting Howard at the hotel. I was at ur wedding to Howard.  I last saw Howard chan 7 studio JERRY CHAN

I will miss Howard terribly. I loved our little flirtation games. And April encouraged it! 
He was a funny caring husband and father. A beautiful soul inside and out.
He leaves a huge void in the universe and in my life.

Dear April and family,

I am so very sorry to learn of Howard's passing.  H was a dear friend and I will miss him tremendously. H never failed to call on my birthday. In fact, I still have his message from this past June. I saved it so that when I was having a bad day, I could listen and have my day made better by hearing H's voice. I also never listen to a Kenny Rogers song without thinking of H and his wonderful stories.

Please know that H's many friends at Classic Cinemas share in your sorrow and are thinking of you during this difficult time.
