Dolores Ann Eddy, affectionately known as "Dee Dee," was born on December 7, 1935, in Fresno, California. Dee Dee passed away peacefully at home in Woodland Hills, California, on September 21, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born to Grace and Tex Dickson, and was little sister to Patricia. After graduation from Roosevelt High School in Fresno, she pursued her studies in Nursing School at Pasadena City College. It was during this time that fate intervened, bringing her together with Don - a patient in the hospital.
Dee Dee and Don, married for 67 years, were a loving and supportive couple, who raised three daughters together. Their family grew to include 9 grandchildren (and their spouses) and 10 great-grandchildren. Dee Dee became known as Mom, Grandma, Big Grandma, Aunt and cherished friend. Her kindness and warmth attracted many neighbors, church friends, and Don's Rocketdyne colleagues, leaving an enduring impact on all who knew her.
Dee Dee's influence extended far beyond her immediate family. A passionate advocate for her community, she served as a PTA leader, Girl Scout troop leader, Indian Maiden leader, and dedicated member of St. James Church. There, she held various roles, including Wedding Coordinator, Deacon, and Youth Group leader. In her later years, she remained active in her faith community as a regular member of a Bible Study Fellowship.
Following a brief hospital stay, Dee Dee was surrounded by the love and support of her family, friends, and neighbors. Don was by her side until her final breath. May her legacy continue to inspire us each day.
