Iva "Sandy" Coffin

She was born in Lorain, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clifford and Virginia (nee Dockery) Cathey. Iva was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Chesmar Sr. and Niles Coffin; loving mother of Robert J. Chesmar Jr. (deceased), Vickie (Daniel) Ramos, and Ryan (Debbie) Chesmar; cherished grandmother of Kaitlin (deceased), Bridget and Brandon Chesmar and Matthew Vargo; dear sister of Patrick (Cathy) Cathey (deceased), Patricia Cathey, Virginia Marcum (deceased, Michael (Barbara) Cathey, Kathleen (Daniel) Lewis, Clifford (Patricia) Cathey and Pamela Bandell (deceased); adored aunt of many.

She loved spending time with her family, which included playing all types of games with whomever she could. She enjoyed cooking, baking and country music and had a great sense of humor, which many used as a way to pick on her.

Sister Coffin inspired the congregation of Jehovah's people with her dedication toward sharing in the ministry which came first in her life.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 6PM-8PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake.Ohio 44145. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10AM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 39099 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria, Ohio 44035. Committal services will follow at 12PM at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd., Avon Ohio 44011.
