Born on October 15, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio, Cathie was a respected member of the academic community, having served as a Senior Research Associate at Case Western Reserve University and as an Adjunct Professor at both Baldwin Wallace University and Cuyahoga Community College.
Cathie was celebrated for her kind, generous, loving, and loyal nature. Her life was a testament to her dedication to helping others and her passion for gardening, genealogy, and social research. Her commitment to education and mentorship left an indelible mark on her family, friends, students and colleagues.
She is survived by her son, George (Carol) Collins; daughter, Penelope "Penny" (Doug) Roser; grandchildren, Alexander and Charlize "Charlie" Roser; and many nieces and nephews. Cathie was preceded in death by her parents, John Francis King, Sr. and Mary (nee Seme) King; her brothers, Michael (Judy) King and John Francis (Mary Jane) King, Jr; and her sister, Tracey Terek.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1PM-2PM with service at 2PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, Ohio 44126.
