William and Lois Walsh welcomed Michael, their third child on October 14, 1952 in Lake Charles, LA. He attended Westlake High School, during which time he played Varsity Sports on the football, basketball and baseball teams. He excelled in all sports and earned the title head quarterback in 1970. Upon graduation he joined the United States National Guard serving six years, earning a National Defense Service Metal, Infantry Cord and Marksman Badge M-16.
In his free time Michael enjoyed the social interactions of the casinos, especially the buffets; where the cooks knew him by name and his waitress never kept him waiting for his beverage of choice. Later in his life he enjoyed Bingo, never shying away from a friendly wager against another resident. He was a simple man, with a kind and selfless heart; always there in the time of need, ever protective of his close friends and family.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents and a brother; Robert Walsh, a niece, Melissa Cannon and a brother in-law, Michael Brown.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Cheryl and William C. White Jr. of Sulphur, Karla Brown of Moss Bluff; nieces, Julie Young, Mindi Szumanski, and Mandy Walsh Foddrill.
Cremation has been entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake, LA. The family will host a private service at a later date.
