Mr.Tuttle was born in Lake Charles, LA and has lived most of his life in Westlake, LA. He graduated from Westlake High School in 1953 and received his BA in Industrial Arts Education and his Master’s degree from Northwestern State University. He was a member of The Masonic Lodge Calcasieu 165, Master Mason, York and Scottish Rite and past master of the Lodge .A member of the Habibi Shriners where he served as a Shriners clown. He was a U.S army Veteran who served in the Korean War. George taught for the Calcasieu Parish School Board for many years where he taught wood working shop until his retirement. He was also a master wood worker, spending countless hours building wood craft at home. He was a loving father, grandfather, husband and friend who will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife; Louise Tuttle of Westlake, LA, two sons; Lee Tuttle of Westlake, LA and Ross Tuttle of Westlake, LA, two stepsons; Danny Goss of Moss Bluff, LA and Russell Goss of Westlake, LA., along with nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; John Tuttle Jr., Era Mae Jackson Tuttle, one son; Rex Tuttle and one grandson; Sonny Goss.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake from 2:00pm to 7:00pm and will resume on Monday from 8:00am until time of service.
Funeral Service will be Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00am at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake with Rev. Jason Johnson officiating and with Masonic Rights to follow, Burial will be at Prien Memorial Park. Words of Comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
