He was a native of Ellisville, MS, formerly of Oak Grove, LA and a lifelong resident of Westlake, LA. He was a graduate of Forest High School Class of 1959, a member of NRA and The Contraband Antique Club. He retired as a licensed SVR repairman from PPG after 35 years of service. George was a talented, self taught guitar player and was passionate about his Boston Terriers and all other animals.
He is survived by his wife Marcella Boyd Rose of Westlake; son, George A. Rose of Aubrey, TX; daughter, Gay Rose Morris of Aubrey, TX; Todd Morris of Aubrey, TX; sister, Gladys “Pat” Parisher of Orange Grove, TX; grandsons, Jorden Morris of The Colony, TX and Garrett Morris of Lewisville, TX and Al Holmes of Bernice, LA.
He is preceded in death by his son, Monty Rose, parents, Arthur and Sadie Rose, brother, Charles R. Smith and sister, Elsie Alford.
Pallbearers are, Todd Morris, Jorden Morris, Garrett Morris, Kenny Smith, Mike Smith and Tommy Willey.
Honorary Pallbearers are Arthur Robbins, Keith Willey and Al Holmes.

Funeral Services will be Sunday at 2:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
