Dorothy Mae Perkins was born March 3, 1939, in Lake Arthur, LA to Antoine and Clara Dugas. In 1945 she moved to Westlake, LA. She was a graduate of Westlake High School. In 1956 she married Tommy Perkins, and together they had two children, Prentiss and Mellony. She loved hunting and fishing. She was a member of SWLA Fishing Club where she held many records in the 4th of July fishing rodeos. In 1992 she moved to Mamou, LA with her spouse, Wilton Guillory, where she enjoyed playing pokeno with her friends and cajun music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers; and only son.
She is survived by her daughter, Mellony Patin; 4 grandchildren, Robbie (Elizabeth) Patin, Brady (Kristian) Patin, Garret Perkins, and Brett Perkins; 1 great-grandchild, Kaycen Dorothy-Ann Patin; daughter-in-law, Wendy Perkins; and brother, Jimmy Dugas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake, LA, from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
