Darnell was originally from Gillis and spent the majority of her life as a resident of Westlake. She worked for At Your Service for 31 years. Outside of work, Darnell was deeply involved with her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished. She loved spending time camping, walking her dog Jack, reading, and riding motorcycles with her devoted husband.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Earl Bodin, Jr.; children, Felicia McFarlain and husband Byron and Bill Bodin and wife Lana; five grandchildren, Haley McDaniel, Kyle Bodin, Candace Bodin, Kristie Bodin, and Cami Bodin; three great grandchildren, Nevaeh McDaniel, Addison Bodin and one on the way; sister, Mona Garretson and husband Danny; and brother, Kenneth Manuel and wife Marla.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Arlene Emenhiser.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church at 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens.
